8-10???
« on: April 06, 2005, 11:03:18 AM »
Last night I had 4 8-10 splits on what appeared to be a good pocket shot.  Had 3 others where either the 8 or 10 fell at the last second.  What causes this and how do you correct it?

I believe you are right handed, correct. 8-10's for righies means that the ball is not finishing. This means either the ball just isn't driving through or the ball didn't make it all the way back to the pocket. The ball hits the pocket and instead of driving through, it bounces backward.
Take some speed off the ball, move right or throw something stronger. That should fix the problem.

I realized that I am a bum! The more I learn the worse I bowl. I have left a pocket 3-9 with a 16lb bowling ball. How'd I do it?????? UHHHHH IOONO

Are you throwing 16 or 15?

I had left a lot of splits throwing 16#'s, then I swithed to all 15# equipment, never had the problem after that.  15# balls tend to bounce around more, and is actually creating more pinaction for me.
