What type of thumb inserts do you guys use. Is there anything wrong with just having a hole instead of a slug?

We use Grip-loc slugs.  We do not carry or sell any vinyl inserts or slugs.  Raw holes vary do to the interiors of the ball different balls feel different.  A quality slug gives the same feel.

Here is what I use:  http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=203358&ForumID=16&CategoryID=5  (As far as feel goes, these Vise IT interchangeable thumb slugs are made from the same material as standard urethane slugs)
