Thumb Swelling
« on: August 20, 2004, 01:55:44 AM »
I bowled about 12 gms combined last night at two different houses. My average games per week are usually 6-8 so I wasn't used to the extra work.  I've been trying to throw a different release that has helped prevent my thumb from swelling but the only thing is, I don't get as good a roll on the ball with that new release as opposed to my old release.  Though my thumb would look like a grapefruit after 10+gms with my old release, I would score much, much better.  Should I stick with the new release and learn how to obtain the high scores without the swelling or are the high scores worth it?  Any suggestions or comments on whether I'm doing anything wrong or not?

The mentality of a bowler should be the same as any male walking on the earth, if u can squeeze it into the hole and still score why not?

Ken -- Oversize your thumb insert by 3/32" and install a 3/16" Thumbillow or a Magic Carpet.  --  JohnP
