I had been having some major fun lately! Got me a couple of Thumbillows, finally opened up my thumbhole one drill bit size and placed a 1/8 inch thick one of these babies in the back and for a few months I have been going to Lucky town in my limited practice sessions.
For a while I was having at least one or several 9 strike games per practice session on my nice top hat shot! Even when pretty severely broken down.
Now lately using a mid flare ball, I have had a few sessions with usually two no tap 300s in a row with only a 7 pin leave or strike being the only throws(no other leaves)! I've mentioned to several of my firends, there are two consecutive 300s in one of these practice sessions coming(probably will be late at night with only my GF watching). Not bad for a bowler getting on the lanes sometimes less than every two weeks.
I see these inserts as nothing dramatically different in concept than my well respected friend Ron Clifton's Magic Carpet or the Mastergrip Shur cushions. For some reason both of those products irritate the back of my thumb. The Thumbillow does not!
What ever the material is it is smooth and holds till I want to release!
I was recently VERY bummed to find out that they had discontinued making this product as I had just started to really seriously use it over the past couple of months! Now I found some supply.
Note...One size bigger and a small increase in thumb front bevel and one is on the way! The ads say more revs and more control. I concur.

PS many bowlers like the more recent slidey tape attached to the back of the thumb, seems like a good idea BUT it cannot make up for thumb shrink/swell like all the players in this more foamy thumb backing field!
