Got a question....

I'm a cranker, about 16 mph, was looking at a ball for drier lane conditions, or lighter oil. I've narrowed it down to the mojave, or i've been told the ogre ss or the grand illusion as well. Can someone elaborate on these balls.

most definetly not the Grand Illision this ball is a beast for me. at least 4 to 6 boards stronger than my cell drilled the same. for drier lanes the neptune is good as well as the mojave or the sahara

ok so are there any others to consider. I have a brunswick tf oob (ruff buff). sometimes it checks a little early. any brunswick or any other balls for that matter gonna give me cleanliness with still a decent backend? I used to have an amf velocity that was great for this

From Big B, Avalanche Slide. I also think the Neptune is an option.

Power Groove or even the PG Dry/R are also good choices. There's also an Urethane Ogre in the pipeline from VBP - also a ball that might eb worth waiting for.

If you're going to spend the money, you might as well buy the best dry lane ball made...Lanemasters Hornet.
It doesn't have filler between the coverstock and core so it'll hit hard and last...no cracking coverstock here. It's also very controllable and smooth as silk. I had one in Hawaii but sold it when I moved (couldn't afford to transport a buttload of bowling balls), sure wish I still had it now. Though the Neptune I got to replace it is a very solid ball, too.

You'll have to give a range for top weight, I'd say 2 1/2 - 3 oz with a 2 1/2 -3" pin

Sounds about right then. Can someone elaborate on the Avalanche Slide vs. the Mojave from Morich? The Mojave is more expensive, is it a better ball?

there is no such thing as a better ball. Either the slide or the mojave will do the job for what you are looking for

well I guess ill save money with the slide then. think I will go with pin right over the two finger, cg just right of grip center. does it handle a little carrydown, like from a 2nd or 3rd shift league?
