Emerald Vibe or Ogre SS
« on: November 25, 2008, 01:34:02 PM »
Ok I'm looking to get a ball for the light to dry conditions. These were the two I were looking at the most, but i'm open to suggestions on any other balls any company. And if any one has any advice on the two mentioned above let me know.

Did you look at the Blue/Green Centaur by Visionary?

I have noticed that the Emerald Vibe resembles the Green Gargoyle ALOT!!!  The EV with the same drilling will get down the lane easier than the SS but with more "kick" on the backend.  The SS is a couple feet sooner and slightly more controllable at the breakpoint.

Unless you have a higher ball speed or low rev rate, neither are for light to dry conditions, as they are normally defined. They are considered medium to medium-light oil balls for the average rev rate and ball speed bowler.

For sure the SS I am working on getting one back i miss mine for the lighter house shots it carried amazing and the recovery was  unbelievable I've never had something be so forgiving yet consistent at the same time if you get what i mean, my brother has a green vibe as well he is a hammer boy and that ball isn't as versatile when it comes to shots it doesn't like to be as played outside and doesn't recover like my SS use to. well Good Luck with you choice and have fun bowling

I went ahead with the SS. Thanks for the replies. Now I'm curious as to how I should have it drilled. To those who have own/ed or drilled one, what is a generally good drilling for it?
