Tim Mack gets his card?

The great Timmy Mack is bowling the PTQ today and looks like he's giving the tour a shot. Best of luck to Tim.

I wonder why is he getting his card.  I think he has made over $100,000 this past year bowling as an amatuer.

Maybe he just has a couple of weeks with nothing else to do.

Unless he breaks his leg, Mack should roll over the rest of the PTQ field.  It would be really great to see him make it into match play, or (gasp!) the show.

I didn't think he had a PBA card, though, seeing as how so many amateur tournaments bar PBA members.  Is he bowling with a weekly exemption of some sort, or has he actually joined the PBA???

I read you need a card to bowl the PTQ.

Most of the US amatuer tournament (like the High Roller) bar professionals.  However, I don't think all the overseas tournament address professionals bowling in their tournaments.  So, I think Tim can still hit some of the overseas tournaments.

Most of the tournaments he would bowl bar past PBA champions and touring I or II pro's.

If he would only bowl a stop or two and not win then he would keep his eligibility to most amateur events.

and what do you suppose his expenses were?
I don't know, but I'd expect them to be in the $25-50,000 range.

Neither.  That roster is quite out of date.  I actually checked with the bowling center and Tim Mack is scheduled to bowl the PTQ today.

Apparently there was an elgiblity issue and Tim did not bowl.
I'm sure it will all come out soon.

Congrats go out to the Real Deal CJ (Chris Johnson) for winning the PTQ.  If anyone has a chance to watch CJ bowl, you'll be very impressed.  He's also one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.  He's bowled 3 or 4 regionals and two national stops and has cashed in every one.

CJ is the real deal, as Hose and I know all too well. Correct me if I am wrong Hose, but you have to cash in two regionals to bowl a tour stop. So, Tim is going to have to at least get his two regionals under his belt, then he can give the tour a shot. By the way, in CJ's first regional as an amatuer last summer he rolled two 300's. One in the sweeper on Friday and one in the semi-finals. Then hits the tour with a top 32 finish his first week. Not bad....

Oh, and that Tour I and II business that tournaments still list in there rules. There is no such thing anymore. The amatuer events need to update their rules. There is standard or full membership. You have either cashed and are eliglible or you haven't cashed or are a standard member and are not eligible for a tour stop. What gets me is the scratch events that don't let any pro bowl, but let a 230 average amatuer. Who are they afraid of, but that is a whole other story or subject.

Mankind,
Tim Mack has been offered one of the three "house spots" that are reserved for anyone designated by the bowling center.  Those spots can be filled by amateurs, if desired.  That is how Robby Spigner got into the tournament last year and almost made the show.  BTW, Robby will be trying again this year, again using a house spot.

Last I heard as I was leaving the bowling center (later than I want to remember) was that Mr. Mack had not yet decided if he was going to use his spot.  Time will tell.

Although I haven't been over to the PBA website, it appears from these posts that the PTQ results have been posted.

Congratulations to your friend Chris Johnson for leading the PTQ.  I did get a chance to see him bowl and he looked very good.  I will have more opportunities to watch him tomorrow and, perhaps Friday.

Congrats to your other friend, Tim Penner for also making the tournament.

Thanks Rick.  I saw where CJ won the PTQ which isn't much a surprise for us who see him bowl often.  CJ may end up rookie of the year unless someone jumps in there and makes a show or two.  CJ will be in the money week after week.

I just got word last nite in the shop, my first question was why? Timmy does like $200,000 grand a year. I hope he takes his medication because he's going to go through BRACKET withdraw! NO MORE PUT ME IN ALL (300 BRACKETS). Timmy good luck partener I 'll see you when you come through Bowlrite.
