In your leagues, do you tip the people who run the jackpots, and if so, what is considered a decent tip?

I tip but it depends on the amount of the jackpot. If it is lower than $30 I might give $2 and buy him a beer. That is considered HUGE by some standards. Hell, if any of the older guys in the leagues win they don't give a penny.
I think a tip, even if the guy gets in free should be required. Most of the time it is unexpected money anyways.
The middle of the road ages always seem to tip better 25-50. Younger ones and older ones are pretty tight.

Around here, when they run brackets, the fellow who is running the brackets does get a cut out of each bracket payout, but that cut is determined up front. The fellow running brackets gets less than 10% for doing all of the bookkeeping, bringing his computer for the brackets, and chasing down the scores each game. In fact, when the bracket fellow is bowling at the same time, he will often get one of the younger girls in the center to chase down the individual scores, and he gives her a cut of his cut.....that way all he has to do is to enter the scores at the end of each game and post the updated sheets on the wall.
But tipping for a jackpot??? Not no, but (deleted) NO.

When you go to a restarant You tip the waitress for bringing the food and making sure you have refills on your beverage of choice. She is offering you a service that does not include cooking the food.
The guy that collects for jackpots is doing the same. He may even be taking away from his own scores to run around and collect the money from everyone. Then, he has to run around and check the scores.

That sounds like a service to me.
Like I mentioned in the earlier post it will depend on how much money is there. If it is $30 or less $2 is fine to give him. Once it starts reaching near $50, give the guy a 5 spot. It certainly should not break you.
THE AREA OF BRACKETS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOPIC. Most of the time that guy gets his money off of the top, so he does not deserve to be tipped since he probably took $5 for each bracket anyways. He is already being paid for his time.
The guy that collects for jackpot is usually doing it for naught. If he is complaining about not getting any tips then I wouldnt give him any. It is a courtesy.
He is still doing it for nothing. So give the guy a few bucks and stop being so cheap.
