Title: To keep or not to keep?
Post by: the shadz on June 23, 2004, 09:15:14 AM
DO any of you hold any sentimental value for the ball you shot your first 300 with?  I'm wondering because I haven't used mine in quite a while and should sell it, but a part of me wants to keep it around.  What have you all done?

Mine is still on the active list. I don't use it too often, but I still have it.
I still have the balls I shot both my 800 series with, as well. One of them is still in the first line bag - the other will go on a shelf of honor in my new bowling office.

Call me sentimental, because I'll probably never shoot 300 again, so my 300 ball sits in a ball cup near the computer along with my other bowling memorabilia.

Yeah I had mine resufaced and engraved.

I've been known to give other bowling balls away to kids or someone
starting out, but not the 300 ball, especialy since they don't make it anymore

Gave it away 4 months later...do you keep the shoes you shot 300 with?

Re-drilled mine to try a different grip.  Didn't like it.  It now sleeps with the fishes.

Actually I have those too.
I put new soles on them.

Only thing I don't have is the glove I was wearing, becasue it broke.

The ball I shot my first 300 with I lost about a week later. The funny thing about the 300 was that it was with a friend's ball. Combat zone (green one). Another funny thing is that all my honor scores have been with green bowling balls.

Mine is still usable, though rarely.  If someone else could benefit from using it, I'd give it away.

I have no idea where it is now.

I usually try to keep the ball(s) that I used for my most recent 300 and 800, though.

Shot my 1st 800 with a ball I could not get to fit right, sold it to one of the guys I bowl with, He hated the ball from the getgo so I bought it back from him and shot a 300 with it 1st game after getting the thumb redone. Boy, the guy was so upset that he dumped his 4 ball bag and balls into the bowling center parking lot.
Ball is now on my mantle along with a picture of the guy dumping his balls onto the parking lot.

there's an idea...bored a 4" hole and set the ring inside with clear plug.   drill all the way thru so you have come back lighting?
