We had our "big stepladder" tournament this weekend. Throughout the year, the sponsors have been putting out a regular THS, walled to the hilt. For this tourney, since the payoff was $3000.00 for first place, the sponsors put out what I believe was the same shot as at nationals.

Boy, I never saw so many bowlers struggle to shoot a buck fifty in my life. The first cut, down to the top 50 was +28.  The cut down to the top ten was higher, +70. The winner shot a 213 in the final match and won by 3 pins. He should have lost, but the guy he was bowling against thought he had won as he was in head in the tenth frame and basically through it in the gutter on a 7 pin fill ball. He was told that the guy he was bowling against did not have any pins, PSHYCH!!!! Dude actually had like 8 pins, got up closed out and won the 3k.

The shot was difficult, but playable. One of the guys on the lane with me bowls in our Sunday league and has 3 three hundreds in the last year or so. He averages around 220. He shot 138, 154, 168. The guy that had the highest average in our league averaged less than 200 in the second cut. I shot 158, 184, 214. Not great, and should have been better, but it was much better than a lot of the so called good bowlers. Great experience and I wish that we saw a legitemate shot around here more often.
