« on: November 07, 2003, 06:51:16 AM »
Just for kicks I'm going to try to handicap the field:

WINNERS:
- MIKE AULBY
- AMLETO MONACELLI
- BRIEN LECLAIR
- JASON QUEEN
- RONNY RUSSELL
- BRYON SMITH
- PAUL FLEMING
- MIKA KOIVUNIEMI

Anybody want to speak up BEFORE they enter the RING?

Who is Mike Alby? Heard of Mike Aulby, but not Mike Alby lol heehee

Anyways, my predictions are...

Pete Weber
Amleto Monacelli
Steve Jaros
Jason Queen
Rick Lawrence
Bryon Smith
Paul Fleming
Patrick Healey Jr.

Well, now that I, 'the cloud', have spoken, I bet they all'll probably lose, lmao

Looks like all you BOWLERS are AFRAID TO BE WRONG .. guess you'd all rather wait till it's over and second guess the winners! I can't wait to see how WRONG/RIGHT I was!!!

Lol, I never guess until I see scores from the rounds of 16 and 8.  Then I make an educated guess about the show.  This would just screw my percentage all up probably . .

Okay, I'll take a shot:

Weber
Kent
LeClair
Jones
Russell
Johnson
Wiseman
Koivuniemi

I'd love to see Aulby make the show, but I don't think he will get past Pete.

Brian LeClair is so overdue it's not funny, so he's gotta be the sentimental favorite.

This guy RONNY RUSSELL .. don't know who he is .. but he sure is bowling up a STORM. I have the 2002/2003 YEAR BOOK and he's not listed there .. I would imagine he's NEW to the tour .. anybody know anything about him? I hope he makes the TV .. would like to see him in action!

Weber over Aulby in 6
Monacelli over Kent in 7 (although I would have liked to see big Wes in this match)
LeClair over Jaros in 5
Jones over Queen in 5
Lawrence over Russell in 4
The Real Deal over Smith in 5
Fleming over Wiseman in 7
Healey over Koivuniemi in 6

Gotta love all the Texan influence going to the Round of 8  If only Wes could have pulled his match out so it wasn't just a D/FW round of 8... *sigh*

Everyone should watch for russel I know him and went to college with him or  uer and got to know him really well.  This is only his 2nd tournament so he wouldn't be in the yearbook from last year.  he has bowled the ptq each of the last two weeks.  wasn't going to go pro yet but is trying to mke the exemption.
my predictions are
weber
kent
jaros
queen
russel
smith
wiseman
healy
show no mercy, kill the wounded, eat the dead

Well, we were all definitely wrong on the Aulby match (outside of Joe )...and the others are turning into bigger slugfests than I had expected...

Now its time to move on to our predictions for the Round of 8 and who you expect to get the wild card.  Remember that the wild card goes to the Round of 8 loser that qualified highest after the 18 games of qualifying...

Round of 8 predictions...

Monacelli over Aulby
Queen over Jaros
CJ over Russell
Healey over Wiseman (hey, he was +260 in his 4 wins)

Scenario above brings Russell in as wild card since he qualified 3rd and would make for a potentially interesting show since there would be 4 of the top 6 qualifiers making it to the finals...

As the #1 qualifier, Healey is guaranteed to make the show.  If Healey defeats Wiseman, then Russell is in as (at least) the wild card.

If Healey and Russell both win, and Queen and Monacelli both lose, then... who is the wild card?  They tied for 6th at the end of qualifying!!!
