Tony's Random Thought o' the Day
I keep hearing about everyone's secret, homebrew formula for cleaning solution for removing oil residue from bowling balls. But I just don't buy into it.
I almost never clean my bowling balls. I almost prefer the small battle wounds the balls collect during usage. And frankly, I don't keep a ball long enough to notice a dead coverstock (although I do not deny it exists).
Heck, I rarely wipe my ball down with a towel between shots... only if it's really flooded.
I think some people rely too much on the equipment aspect of the game and not enough on the mental/physical aspect. I'm just a big believer in "just throw really good shots" and everything seems to fall into place. Of course, I also believe I'm fortunate to know what a good shot feels like whereas I'm convinced some people have no idea.
May all your balls be heavy and round and all your brooklyns carry.
