Title: Top Wieght and Pin Placement
Post by: The SuperHitMan on January 14, 2006, 07:58:26 AM
What are the importance of the two? I was told that pin placment dictated what the ball does (or plays a signifigant part)The higher the pin (3-4) the longer the ball goes and the shorter the pin (1-2) the earlier the ball reacts. Is this true? All replies welcome

Generally speaking you are correct....

longer pins tend to go longer and can turn sharper while shorter pins tend to be more rolly and start their hooking earlier.

Of course in the world of the super asymmetrical cores and mega-reactive coverstocks, less emphasis is placed on the short vs long pin argument.
