Topic Removal
« on: August 27, 2004, 02:36:47 PM »
Whelp power has gone to one of the mods heads....they already removed one of the topics I started this evening.   Why not lock it if you're that worried.  Let everyone read what is so much of a problem in your book.  Suggestion.....better yet send a poster a message that you removed it and why.

Was that the one where the BRModerator replied with:

quote:
I AM NOW THE LAW ON THIS SITE

I had just replied to that statement and the whole topic was removed.  Was it due to my reply?

Yes MI 2 AZ--It was a question whether moderators had the power to move topics to the right forum.  A question that stevieT300 asked about the Green Gargoyle.  I asked if they had that power from Bruce and they do not.

I followed up parapharasing now that if Bruce did not have time to police and work the site that maybe a possibility whould be that he would allow the mods to do that.  I guess one of them didn't like it and removed my topic.

Oh, that was the other topic that I read.  I remember your topic and dont believe that there was anything offensive there.  Just like the other topic about news of the moderators, where some jokes were posted about the old moderator's job being outsourced to India.  I dont know why either one would be deleted.

Even the police departments have Interal Affairs officers to keep an eye on the ones who are supposed to be upholding the law.  Think we need something like that here.

My guess is that someone hacked into one of the moderator accounts.  I noticed a rather odd reply from BRModerator.  Maybe a real moderator came in and cleaned up the stuff the fake one posted.  Possibly your post was a casualty?

Why not just delete the fake moderator account?  Then, all his postings would automatically be deleted and the topics would be left in place with all of the other users' replies.  I would think that there would be some sort of safeguard(s) in place to prevent that sort of spoofing from happening.
