Timing
« on: July 27, 2009, 01:33:30 AM »
hey guys, i have a q because my timing is really bad right now. its late and i use a 5 step approach, im starting it at the start of the second step like you should, but im still quite late. i think my feet move too fast for too short of a distance. If i move back on the approach, im at the first set of dots, will that help get my timing back? or am i just better off slowing my feet down a LOT lol? thanks

Just focus on rolling the ball.  Dont think about anything else.  I had the same problem up until about a week ago.  Don't over think, and just roll the ball.

the thing is, the late timing which makes me pull it on the downswing which makes me spin it, im trying to get my timing back which i hope will help me stop. when i focus on rolling it i tend to spin it even more.

Just count to yourself while you're walking down the approach. "One-and-two-and-three-and-four-and-five."  It'll keep your feet slow and in proper rhythm.
