tough and easy lanes
« on: June 28, 2008, 11:20:44 PM »
okay well I was reading the tough house sandbagging debate and I started to wonder.

just say my house has 40 lanes. The oil on these lanes could be different.

say

20 lanes - block pattern for straight/social bowlers
10 'easier' modified houseshots- for league bowlers
10 'tough' lanes - for league bowlers looking for a challenge such as sport shots etc.

i know this idea will probably never happen . But i was wondering about it .

what are the cons?
and are the pro's really worth it?

From a bowlers point of view this would be a good thing, well maybe not the super easy lanes that would just kind make everyone sloppy.  Having a center that laid out a sports shot on part of the house would be very helpful to bowlers.  However, from the bowling centers point of view it would probably not be worth the time and money to put out that pattern on part of the lanes.  then if they have a big league come in they have to strip the sports shot off those lanes to make it even for the entire league.  Thats why you wont see a bowling center do that kind of thing.
