tournament arsenal
« on: February 27, 2010, 02:10:39 AM »
I'm bowling tomorrow in a team event tournament held locally.  I was just looking at what I'm taking and got to wondering if I'll have the oldest 6 balls in the house:

Lane #1 Pro-Purple
Lane #1 Teal
Lane #1 Super Carbide Bomb
Lane #1 Chainsaw Massacre (far and away the most recent acquisition)
Brunswick Crown Jewel (from about 1965) - spare ball
Purple Power Groove (did color make a difference with these?)

I know how you feel.  It's often I don't have a ball with me that's being currently produced.  The BW Bite, Creature, and B/G Centaur are fairly recent, but I often have my Weapon of Mass Bias, Tour Power, or Tsunami with me.  For house shots, my trusty Nighthawk M2 is always in the bag.  As long as you know how your older equipment acts for you, you're not at much of a disadvantage.  Some of the new "super" covers seem to read the patterns better than the old stuff, but not always.  Good luck.
