Tournament for Women
« on: May 10, 2003, 04:09:41 PM »
Are there any Women here that bowl tourneys that are within driving distance of Winston Salem, NC?
I am putting on a tourney for women at Creekside Lanes June 1st.
Here is a link for Info  http://bowl4fun.com/WomenLite.htm

I don't think Women have enough tournaments to bowl in. I coach several women that bowl PWBA and there are very few tournaments for them to bowl in to help them get ready. "Training grounds"  tournaments if you will. If I get a good turn out I will do many more tournaments for women.

I am trying something different for this tournament. I am calling it Handicap Lite.....It's handicap but it's based on 50% of 200. I don't think there are enough scratch women bowlers in my area to support a scratch tournament. I am thinking by offering just a small amount of handicap,I may get some women that are 20 or 30 pins off of scratch. The tournament will be on a "tournament oil pattern", not a league shot but not super hard ether.

I would appreciate it if any of you that are close enough, would print out the flier and post it in your center and help me spread the word. I really want to do more tournames for women but I have to have turnout.

Please post here if you plan on bowing. I have no idea how many women read this from my area.

I wish I did.  I'd like to see more singles and doubles tournaments also because it is hard to get a team together -- schedule conflicts and what not.
