I've just gotta shake my head when I go through my league games the last couple weeks. Everything finally came together about three weeks ago, and it started with an 8 game sweeper the day after Thanksgiving. Surprised the living daylights out of me, I averaged 229.3 and finished 3rd among some of the biggest dogs in my area. I bowl scratch leagues on Tuesday and Wednesday late, and both my averages were at 204 (incredibly frustrating coming off a promising season last year, however, it's due to multiple hand and wrist problems and a lot of changes). The next two weeks at league went:
Tuesday: 257-257-237-751
Wednesday: 225-225-268-718
Tuesday: 137-236-246-619
Wednesday: 258-233-192-683
Sooo, lol, my games, listed all in a row were: 257-257-237-225-225-268-137-236-246-258-233-192. See anything odd in there? The story of the 137 is strike, 10 pin, whiff. Strike, 10 pin, whiff. Strike, 10 pin, whiff. Bucket, spare, big four, 10 pin, whiff. Thumbholes were craters that night, I was gripping the ball, and every time I left a 10, my spare attempt was nowhere CLOSE. The 192 at the end was the result of leaving 5 10 pins, and missing one. I just never got anything going. However, for my last 20 sanctioned games, even with the 137, and a couple 190 games (one in the tournament), I've averaged 230.25. Might not be anything for some of you guys, and I still believe I can do better, but for as horribly as I've been bowling up to this point, that's REALLY something. Tooting my own horn here, but I also meant to start a post for others to toot their own horns as well. Been in a slump and broken out of it? Speak up! In a current slump and need encouragement or reassurance that you'll eventually break out of it? Read and enjoy!

"Fishin reminds me of a girl I was with, we went down to the lake down 'ere. She wanted to make love on a horse, and I'd never done it, so we did it, and I'm trying to keep my balance, and she's fallin' off, then the manager at the Wal-Mart came out and unplugged 'er there. I didn't even want to make love on the horse, I wanted to do it on the rocket ship . ."
