Light oil ball
« on: January 31, 2006, 08:27:28 AM »
I'm looking for a light oil ball to go below my Ebonite Ice in my arsenal. I was thinking a Dry/r but I'm not feeling real confident in getting it. Do any of u have experience with this ball? If so how is it drilled and how does it react? I'm opening it up to other suggestions also, from all companys.

Thanks!!

why not a hammer vibe, i dont think there that strong. depending on the layout you want on it, im sure it can be weaker than you ice.

Yeah Jr..I was actually thinking about a Hammer Vide. I will look up on it some and see if it might do the trick.

thb, I'm worried about the Dry/r not hooking enough if I drill it too weak or picking up too soon if I drill it strong. I was thinking pin above, but according to Joe it would go too long.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah I want the Dry/r to be fairly smooth and yes the Ice is weaker than the Punisher. What do you use your Punisher on? How did the Dry/r react with the box finish?
Thanks for the help!!

V2 dry...Forgot about that one. I will consider it, but I will pass on the offer thanks anyway!

THB Thanks for the extra info on it. Sounds good. I'm going to talk to my driller and see what he thinks about it.

I am also looking for a dry lane ball..preferably used, because I don't see those conditions all too often.  However last night they were so fried I threw my Spare Tire and it was breaking 5-7 boards.

The Vibe is a perfect dry lane ball with a length drilling. Hit the coverstock with a 4000 grit abralon pad and put a coat of polish on it. It is not however a good ball for neglected toasty lanes, plastic or polished urethane fits the bill there depending on how bad the condition is............

I thought I was fine with a highly polished Slate Blue Gargoyle as a dry lanes ball--until I found out a couple Saturdays ago that I had not previously really known what dry lanes were.  I was hooking the Slate coast to coast and I'm not normally a bowler who can even do that.

I now have a Buzzsaw XXXL (plastic) on the way from drillwizard.

I already have a XXXL, great dry lane ball. Right now the Desert Heat is my choice!
Thanks everyone!
