Title: Tournament players – do you still carry particle for tough shot / wet-dry?
Post by: CharlieBrown on January 17, 2009, 01:36:04 AM
Do you still carry a particle (low-load, pearl etc) in your tournament arsenal for flat pattern, tougher shot or wet-dry condition? Or do the new breeds of reactive can pretty much offer the desired reaction?

I still keep my track phenom around for such occasions but rarely use it.it's a high load particle and the cover is very easy to adjust.it's helped on every shot from wet/dry to dry.I remember one time I had it finished @ 4000 + high polish and it had more length then urethane and carried better then any urethane I've ever tried before.
adjust it @ 400 and it' will hook in oil and tame the dry plus the shot won't fool you, always seem to get a true read of the pattern.

I don't have any of the new high end reactives, so I keep my particle Weapon of Mass Bias in the bag if I'm expecting long or heavy.  It still doesn't get a lot of use because not too many tournaments around here put out anything a 1000 grit (older) reactive can't handle.
