Tournament question
« on: July 10, 2004, 11:10:21 PM »
I want to get the opinion of those out ther that bowl tournaments.

How do most of you all feel about a bowling house that host a tourney
and lets the house mechanic who oils the lanes prior to the tourney
bowl in the tourney?

Doesn't matter to me. The more the merrier. I don't know why they have tournaments that bowling alley employees cannot bowl in. People get it in their heads that that certain group of people will shut them out or something. But anyway, I don't care if they bowl.

If I know the center, the owners, that their reputation is known for honesty and fairness AND we "draw" for lanes(not assigned), it doesn't matter.  We'll hopefully have to cross lanes anyway so with transitioning, there should be no unfair unadvantage.  In addition, if the person(s) running the tourney was intentionally trying to be deceitful, that tourney wouldn't last very long and his/her reputation would begin to precede them.

Why not? I think the only thing that I would want is that the lane assignments be randomly made. Would hate to think that the LANE MAN would treat a lane he's to bowl on different then the OTHERS!

The only time I've got a problem with them bowling are very special tournaments;

1) Nationals
2) Peterson

Otherwise let them draw for lane assignments like everyone else.
free agency it is until i get a better offer.   LMAO

I saw this a few weeks ago at a tourney.
Didnt really bother me , but I did take notice that his 5 game score was way over for the division that he had signed up for.
Also he was still chasing pins while in the middle of the match.
I just thought this was strange
