I read all the postings on EBONITE and how they were going to do something to fix the price on there bowling balls. I thought at the time I can see the argument! But these prices are crazy. Ebonite and Hammer balls going for $155 undrilled is OUT OF BOUNDS! I see where the online shops were cutting the throats of the B/M shops but .. now the companies are SHOVING ridiculous prices down the throat of bowlers.

I think it's about time for BOWLER'S to take a stand and start investigating some of the newer companies. If we accept these prices and don't revolt we might as well give up the game. EBONITE and company has lost me as a customer .. don't care how good there advertised balls appear!

Does anyone know what a Samsung Blu-Ray Disc Player cost...

A "momey bowler" just gave me one for Christmas...

Somehow I don''t think he was  concerned with the "so called" $10 hike in prices...

What evidence do you have to support your claim that proshops were selling Ebonite balls at a loss and using Brunswick incentives to offset the loss?

BTW, I agree that the $10 does not matter to the money players. You get what you pay for. Still, I'd like to know the source of your statement.

I LIKE JUST ABOUT ANY PRO SHOP OWNER HAS HEARD THIS FROM OUR DIST. AS WELL AS SALES REPS THRU THE INDUSTRY...

IT SHOULD NOT BE A QUESTION OF US PROVING IT, IT SHOULD BE A QUESTION OF THE ONLINE DEALERS DENYING IT..

ASK THEM,  DID YOU USE CO-OP MONEY TO OFF SET THE COST...

Interesting assumption.

So is the pro shop cost of Ebonite HP balls now higher than the cost of other HP balls by 10 to 25 bucks?  I sort of doubt it. If not, then why should Ebonite HP balls be 10 to 25 bucks higher? If your answer is because they are a superior product, time will tell. If your answer is, so that only BandM shops can sell them and make a profit, then...... If your answer is, so that Ebonite maximizes its profit margin.....

cc,  The cost to pro shops on a HP Storm model is about the same as a HP from Ebonite... However some online dealers choose to sell the Storm and Brunswick HP balls for less... There is nothing we can do about what they sell the balls for...

And NO, not saying anyone''s model is superior... But I''m saying that the Ebonite family of balls sells very well...And so do models from Storm/Roto...

Trying to zero in on this .. Is it true that the bowler who was buying Ebonite products on-line before the ebonite change is now paying more for the balls then before the ebonite change.

The answer is definitely YES!

Case closed .. thanks to all the additional info that came out as a result of this posting. Ebonite screwed the bowler. Yes they have some great balls that were recently introduced .. I hope the bowlers turn against them and they loose money for the year!

I hope bowlers open their eyes and look into some of the newer ball companies and leave Ebonite to lick their wounds .. If money bowlers are going to be the future of bowling and recreational bowling is gone .. I think bowling is going to go faster then we all expected!

To those who feel this was wasted time I apologize .. to those who made honest postings I appreciated it .. Thanks to all .. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
