Weak Solids?

Hey guys, I'm going to be in the market for a weak solid one of these days.  I'm looking to fill a few gaps, and that's one of them.  Right now, my weakest ball is a Neptune...which isn't terribly weak in the grand scheme of things.  I'm looking to find a solid which can handle similar amounts of oil and is a bit smoother off the spot.  I saw a Blue Vibe - too strong.  I've seen a Jolt, but I'm not sure if it's what I need (I like the fact it's got an older coverstock).  I've looked at the Avalanche Solid (I like older cover again here), but I haven't seen it in action.  

Are there any weaker solids out there?  I mean weak sauce weak.  I might even contemplate getting an older ball since all the newer stuff is really strong.  I'm not in the mood for urethane though, that's going to be my purchase after winter league is over - I'm looking for reactive right now.

What do you guys think?  Titanium Messenger for the win? lol

Have you considered the Brunswick Avalanche Solid?  I have one, drilled pin over middle finger, CG under the ring finger, no weight hole, surface at 4000 Abralon.  Great length and very smooth off of the dry.

Second the Avalanche Solid. There is also a solid Power Groove available, and if you are loolikng for a low flare ball with s strong coverstock, the international Dry Zone Solid might be an option, too (if you can get one).
Solid Jolt would IMHO also fit, with some polish or at 4.000 Abralon. The Blue/Green Centaur is IMHO also a valid option.

Vote #2 for the Avalanche Solid, the ball gets incredibly easy length, along with a very mild, controlled move off the friction...slap a weak drilling on it, drill the guts out of it, and you're all set!

I don't believe in weak solids which generally means you are getting a crappy core that will do nothing but leave weak solids.  IMO the Messenger Ti is the best ball of all time if you want something that is 'weaker' but still hits like crazy with that titanium nugget.

Sorry to hear that lower flaring gear doesn't work well with your game.  I personally love it.  I've thrown many a decent game with my Neptune, and even my plastic spare ball in open bowling.  If the lanes are dry enough, anything will mix the pins up.  

Seems like the Avalanche Solid is by far and away a favorite on these here boards.  I shall give it a look see.

you could try dulling one of the vibes. i have a blue vibe OOB layed out almost like a pin axis drill that is earlier and very smooth but weaker like you want.

if you could find one a scamp other than that look into some of the scouts, or the grooves but i would try to fing a big hit solid they still sale them on bowling ball mall for like a 100 great dry lane ball then again so is the razyr

Avalanche Solid is a an exceelent choice, please beware it is stronger than I expected. I am in love with that ball though, this is my first brunswick ball since the danger zone. It is very clean through the heads and smooth off the turn.  I also have the Avalanche Slide and this is stronger, much more angular on the back.

I have two Dynothane Crisis Solids in great shape. I've thrown Plutos, Barb Wires, and this a solids that I swear was as clean as a pearl. I've also got an AMF Code that is super clean, but thats a hybrid !
