Title: Tracking over finger/thumb holes with plastic?
Post by: spatten on October 06, 2003, 02:23:09 AM
I thought tracking over the thumb/finger was only a problem on flaring balls, in which the pin was in the wrong place.

Well the two balls that I have noticed thumping are the plastic white dot, and my V2 Dry. (Pin is about 5x5 above the bridge, ball has an RG diff of .003). The balls don't thump all the way down the lane, maybe the last 20 feet.  This means the axis must be migrating some, but why?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Scott

Good question... I track high, and occasionally hit the thumb and middle finger holes when throwing non-flaring equipment.  However, if it hits, it starts as soon as it's on the lane.  Not sure why a white dot would start thumping past 20 feet.  Hopefully someone can provide more knowledge than I can.

Maybe because plastic balls are generally 2 piece in construction and tend to be higher RG?
