Tried and true or new?
« on: April 15, 2004, 07:32:09 AM »
I've got a chance to get a couple balls before they disappear, but I'm having a hard time deciding.  A few balls I'd like to get are the Eraser Blaze, Boost, El Nino X-IT, Raging Red Fuze, and the Fuze Detonator, but I can't help but look at some of the new stuff.  I'm getting an Ultimate Inferno sometime in the near future (hint hint, PerfectStorm, lol), so I've got heavy oil covered.  I know the X-IT and Detonator are heavier oil balls, but they don't hoook THAT much.  I have a Uranium for medium-light to medium, and it's not going anywhere.  I have a Hot Wire for medium-heavy or longer patterns (it HOOKS believe it or not . .) and I have an X-Factor that's my go to ball for when the lanes start breaking down.

Balls I'm interested in:  Super Charge, had one, loved it, but it flared too much with the first drilling and reacted a little funny on the second one, so I sold it.  Depth Charge, always liked Pro-Thane, and the core is pretty good.  Flash Force, a solid Flash Point should be an awesome ball.  Triple X, a little expensive, but pearl Monsoon looks reeeeaaally nice, plus it smells GREAT.  Cherry Bomb, had one, liked it, but again it's a tad bit expensive.  Phenom Unleashed, still expensive, but it must be decent for it to be nearly the only ball Walter Ray threw the entire second half of the year.

Just give me a few ideas, and I also wouldn't mind waiting a couple months for something new to come out, like Storm's new master line.  I assume they're going to ride the Triple X and the mid range stuff until August.  I want to have a set arsenal by the time next season comes around.  Not that I'll need it, but hopefully I'll have the finances to start bowling tournaments.  That is, if I have the skill . .

I like to sample everything from everyone.  See my profile.  All manufacturers make something that someone will like.  You have plenty of experience throwing and drilling lots of stuff, so you should have a pretty good idea of what fits your game.  I got my Animal tonight, so that kills two birds with one stone.  I hadn't tried Track, and I didn't have a particle pearl.

Flash Force looke like a sweet ball.  Wouldn't mind having one myself.  Anything with a Morpheus core (or a newer MoRich) would be interesting.  Gotta throw a Soaker cover Dynothane in there.  Thing for everything medium, or a Thing Returns for a little less oil, more flip.  Boost doesn't sound like a good matchup for you from your previous decriptions.  Blaze might be good.  Detour perhaps?

The Boost actually matched up for me VERY well, it was one of my favorite balls.  Lol, I forgot to mention that all the balls I mentioned in the first paragraph are balls I've owned.  And don't shoot me, but I don't like Columbia, Ebonite, or Hammer.  I'm mainly Brunswick, Storm, and Lane 1 (only when I'm crazy, but the Uranium rocks).  I'd like to try Roto or Dyno, and I probably will, but I'm more the type to go with something I KNOW I'll have a better chance of liking.  I'm partial to Storm the most, so I'd naturally think I should like Roto or Dyno.  Track worries me because of being produced by Columbia.  Hmm, I guess I don't have much time either way, I've got singles and doubles for the state tournament tomorrow.  If I order something I'll need to do it in the next hour and a half so it'll get here in time.

Hey Hammy, i'll tell you about the XXX tomorrow, as I will be bowling quite a few games with one tomorrow (picking one up), I'll ask Kirsten Penny about the Flash Force and Depth Charge as she has used them before.
