Just got back from BowlersMAP....WOW
« on: April 15, 2004, 09:28:33 PM »
Let me first thank Doug Dukes at Millsboro Lanes in Millsboro, DE for all the help that he has done with my team and myself.  I've learned a ton in a short time working with him and the system that he has set up for the BowlersMAP is INCREDIBLE.

Let me just say this....everyone looking to further their game MUST check this out or find a center that has one.  This place is 3 1/2 hours from my house and 1 hour from my school and I would do it again in an instant.  I plan on working on the things I need to correct and I'll go back in 3-4 weeks to see how it's improved.

I first saw that with my normal delivery I was way too open at the line and my fourth step was too short.  This kept me down on the shot and I lost all of my leverage.  Learning to shorten my first step and lengthening the fourth step, I am more square at the line and at my natural CG, therefore all of my leverage is going forward and I'm not throwing the ball with my shoulder anymore, just letting it flow freely which gives me much more power and consistancy off of my hand.  It's amazing what the BowlersMAP software picks up on.  You can see ANY flaw in your game no matter how small it is and how to correct it.  You can also break it down to see what your ball is doing on the lane, your speed and revrate etc.

Once again, if you want to get better, this is the thing for you to get to the next level.  But if you're happy tearing up your house shot 3-6 games a week going coast to coast with the newest Storm or Lane 1 ball then I wouldn't really waste my time or money going to these clinics.  It's definately for the bowler looking to enhance his game.

Check out Ebonite.com in the tech center section.  They should have a listing all over the country for centers that have it.  Even if it's a 2-3 hour drive I'd highly suggest it.

alternatively you could get a coach.

We have BowlersMAP and CATS (Computer Aided Tracking System) on the semi-local lanes. It is amazing, especially if you bring your coach with you and use your coach, CATS and BowlerMAP together, the average SHOOTS up.

Kendog, it really depends on who's running it how much it costs.  I got to do it for free just because Doug at Millsboro is one of the nicest guys I know and really goes out of his way for bowlers that want to learn more about the game.  I would guess a regular session with all of the works would be around $40-50 bucks.  Much better than buying a 200 dollar ball to "make your game better"
