Title: Tried something different last night
Post by: lilpossum1 on May 27, 2015, 10:36:07 AM
ever since I started bowling, I have been speed dominate due to the way I was taught to bowl. No matter what I did, I could not bring my rev rate up or my speed down. Last night, I couldn't get any carry to save my life. I had a bad reaction with my primal rage and misfit pearl playing any line I could play. So I decided to try something new with my hand where I kind of made it feel like I was trying to pull the cover off the ball using just my hand (not bending the elbow to force it). If that makes any sense. It brought my rev rate up a fair amount and brought my ball speed down from 16.5-17 mph on the screen to consistently around 14.5 mph. And my ball bogeyed on the back end. I have never had my equipment move that much. I still didn't have any carry at all, but my ball did start hitting harder

My guess is that by trying to rip the cover off the ball, this added more axis rotation, which in turn added more snap at the break point.  Also, by adding axis rotation, this delayed transition from skid to roll so that the ball could not get into a roll soon enough - resulting in flat 7's or 10's (depending on which hand the ball was thrown with).

That's all I got as a guess from afar.

"bogeye" is a nick name of a friend. He is also a pilot, and if you see his eyes, some do think twice lol....
