Post by: Bowlers Alley Nick on June 09, 2004, 11:36:31 PM
Next saturday i leave for that BEST tournament and i was going to bring my Tritan Heat for medium oil but the truth is im not very comfertable with that ball and i may be selling it. Would the Truama Recovery be a good medium oil ball? The shot is wood lanes.. 6 games house, 6 games sport shot. Thanks for any input..

Arsenal -
Heavy - Reloaded
Med-Heavy - Triple X-factor
Medium - ????? - Truama Recovery?
Light - X-factor (Polished a lot)

Yea, should be ok on medium depending on drilling etc. Not more than med-heavy tho I don't think.

I would do that but i really cant afford to do everything right now. Tournament is a week and a day away and i need to get 2 balls fixed already and just blah. Most of my stuff is usualble on medium oil + i like my reloaded at the 2 houses i bowl at here. But thanks for the info. The Recovery was very controlable for me when i used it back in the day which is why i thought it would be good for this. I am getting the thumb re-drilled before i go and will prob. be using it.. any other feedback?

FWIW, my Recovery is a very good medium condition ball.  It is possibly the most controllable ball in my arsenal (listed in my profile) and it rolls great.  I also consider it my go to ball on wood.

I think it depends on two things.....The drilling....."How much hand" you have.
I used to have a Trauma Recovery and for me it would work only on light to medium-light oil. On medium oil, it would over run the breakpoint. Also did not handle carry-down well.....However, there are a couple of things to consider here as mentioned above.

First, the drilling...Mine was Drilled Pin over ring-finger and touching the edge of bridge with CG kicked out 1 1/2".

Second, I "don't have much hand." I have very low revs so I am told that I need help getting mid-lane revs and this drilling gives too much length for a low rev bowler. Had I drilled it Pin under ring finger and CG out, this ball might have performed for me on medium oil, I don't know.
