CTD's price for a 10 or 20 pack is quite reasonable ($2.65 each for 10, $2.49 each for 20). The single pad price is high; I'd guess CTD probably just doesn't want to fill single pad orders. Many other online vendors have a similar pricing structure for single vs, multiple pads.

Yes, as pointed out, they are not a new invention. They are a rebranding of a Joest (Jost) product. Abralon and Siaair originally licensed their products from Joest.

The construction seems to be a cutting fiber mesh over a thin sponge base. There seems to be a distinct space for the material to collect below the cutting fibers. I believe this to be the main advantage. Also, I prefer this 5-inch size because it fits my hand block better (minimal creasing.)

I find them to cut quite nicely. For hand finishing (dry) they are especially nice.

To clean after using dry, just slap on a table edge a few times, rotating the pad. You can, of course, clean these wet as well.

I recently purchased a 10-pack and just started using them, so I cannot speak to their longevity. First impressions: I'd say I will order these again, instead of Abralon pads.

To be fair to CTD, their pricing of the TruCut Pads is the same as Abralonpads.com.

CTD is in a trick bag starting in 2019 when we can only use dry towels during competition. All of their liquid cleaning products are geared toward in-game use.

Several months ago, a rep for Jost sent me several "new" pads to test for feedback. They look just like the CTD pads discussed here. I liked the weave of the pads, and they were much easier to keep gunk out for subsequent use. The cut was more aggressive than what you'd get from Abralon/Siaair pads. My first impression was WOW.
 
The problem was they seemed to wear very quickly. The first three uses of the 500 grit were great. Even with minimal pressure, I'd have to wash out the debris after each 20 second side pass. Starting with the fourth ball use, I'd start seeing huge degradation in debris captured. By the sixth use, I wasn't seeing anything sticking to the pad. Long story short, I lost confidence in their use after 3 applications. Conversely, I get about 6 good uses from a Siaair pad.
 
Maybe they took that feedback and made some adjustments. To be fair, maybe this is a completely different product. I'll order a 10-pack from Abralonpads.com (great seller) and give them another chance.

Sia isn't bad, but I still say dry cuts better than wet, and using pads more frequently doesn't bother me... What's a few bucks compared to everything else we spend in this sport? I ordered a single 500 pad to test, arriving tomorrow... Will report back next week. The biggest problem I have with CDT is Ron Hickland. The man just doesn't have any creds with me after his Hook Juice silliness.

Yes, understood. It's a matter of whether the product is redesigned, if it cuts closer to true grit at all, and how durable it is, all weighed against Hickland hype, which gives it two strikes to start off with.
