True Amateur Challenge Tornament L.V.
« on: July 10, 2003, 12:21:36 AM »
Just wondering if anyone here went to Las Vegas to bowl this week or if anyone is still there bowling now. If so how did you find the lanes and how did you like the tournament compared to the others that are going on at the same time (i.e. the Mini Eliminator).

I just went Last Weekend. I have to back this wkend after making the cut in under 205 division. The shot was really a good shot. It rewarded you for hitting your mark. Ifyou pull it it will jump and if you dump it you better like a 3 count or worse. You can play the ball down and in or swing the ball depending on your style and still score. The Texas Station and TAC staff are very helpful.

I also bowled this weekend and will be returning Friday night for the finals on Saturday in the under division. I agree with you about the lanes. If you could keep your speed consistent and play the right or left side of the lane without playing the middle you were okay. Whenever someone tried to get in around 20 or 25 I would tell my buddy to watch as the ball immediately hooked at the arrows.

I really enjoy this tournament and the staff. For the everyday working stiff that loves tournament bowling this is the best tournament in Las Vegas.

I have a question for both Low Rev and dw23. If your profiles say that both of you are averaging over 205,I.E.( Low Rev 210 and dw23 217), how did both of you get in the 205 and under division? Wondering minds want to know......hmmmmmm

Before people come on to this forum to pick other apart. Get your facts straight. When I put in that profile the Average part was at a point in season where I was avereging that high. The U205 divison has to be a book avg from the last 3 seasons incuding this one that ended. And saying that dw23 was in that divison also maybe go to their web site and learn about the tournement before making a stupid comment. BY THE WAY THE UNDER IS 36 and under, Middle is 37-52 adn the senior and 205 is self explanitory. By the way my ave finished the year a 201 when the lanes were made slightly tougher.

Mr Low Rev,

Then maybe you should state in your profile that is a current average along with your book average. I think if your going to state a  current average you keep it current. ( for instance, if your averaging 230 for 18 games over the summer, does that mean your a 230 bowler? But if I didn't list the amount of games that would ASSume I was) .....I am not the only person that was questioning your average, someone else also was in question.....no disrespect intended........good luck in Las Vegas.....
P.S.
To dw23, if you were in the 36 & under my appoligies, but there is a 205 & under and a 36 & under......sucks for me being old and senile LOL

Mr 12steps
I'm sorry it sounded like I was angry. I did update my profile and that average was when my house that i bowled last winter was still easier. By yr's end I had dropped to 201 in both of those leagues. Beleve me I understand about the summmer average. I'm bowing a summer league on a total blocked shot. I did not know that I could shoot more than one big game in a set. Before I bowled that league I thought a 250.00 every mth or 2 was huge. SORRY I OPENED THIS CAN OF WORMS. now lets get back to the topic. Did anybody else bowl the TAC yet?

I am in the 36 and under division. At the TAC they call this the under division so sorry for the confusion. I get a first round bye on Saturday so hopefully I will get to watch a little and get a feel for how the lanes are playing.

Low Rev RMO: I wish you good luck on Saturday and hopefully see you in the final.

Are the results - like daily cuts, etc for this tourney posted on the net anywhere? The TAC homepage doesn't seem to have them, yet the other Vegas tourney's (High Roller and Minieliminator) post their daily results and sweepers. Just wondering.....

They do not update the site with cut scores or anything like that. This is the lowest budget tournament of three in vegas this time of year. Although I like to bowl in all three it is still the fairest of the three in my opinion.
