Why do you need to check this yourself?

You won't be able to accurately check the pitches...but I'm sure you can get an estimation on the span with a bendable type ruler.

Be sure to measure from leading edge to leading edge and eliminate all bevel.  --  JOhnP

If you have a ball that you can get your thumb in, put your thumb in the ball and lay your hand flat on the ball with a LITTLE stretch. Your span is the distance from the edge of the thumb hole to about 3/16" short of the joint closest to the end of your finger. Be sure to check BOTH fingers!
