Timely payoff
« on: March 11, 2005, 12:23:17 AM »
My 5 member scratch league team has a few standing friendly wagers.

We pay for the first “beer” frame each game, each team member gives $1 to a bowler getting 5 strikes in a row, and if you are the victim in 3 consecutive “beer” frames then you have to buy dinner for the rest of the team. We call it “Angelo’s” in honor of a local Italian restaurant.

Well we stuck our token lefty in an Angelo’s this week just in time for our annual trip to the ABC national tournament. We are going to New Orleans after we bowl for a couple of days so it looks like a free meal in the French quarter.

Yum…. Nothing like free food and drink.

Sawbones – Our “beer” frames are the same, everyone strikes but one player in a frame. But the dinner is when the same player gets stuck in 3 consecutive beer fames. The 5 baggers are for any one player who gets 5 consecutive strikes during a game, no carry overs from one game to another.

We (and me in particular) have struggled some at nationals the last few years. We’ll see how it goes.

Pinbuster -- If you like good seafood and the best Hush Puppies I've ever eaten at a reasonable (for New Orleans) price, find Ralph and Kakoo's.  It's in the French Quarter, near Jackson Park.  --  JohnP

I'm surprised your lefty has any money left at the end of the year.  Glad to hear you get another free meal.  I'm sure you'll go easy on him though.

Ralph and Kacoo's rocks...but K-Paul's and Commander's Palace are better.
