whats the heaviest 16 lb you can get?

can you get a 16lb 15 oz? whats the heaviest made now days? i want the heaviest thing i can find!

I've seen 16 lbs 5 oz. Not sure how they got it to 16 lbs. I seriously doubt any manufacturer would release a 16 lb 15 oz ball.

Any ball can only be 16 lbs and no more during USBC sanctioned competition.

i see your point, but technically its not a 17 lb until its 16 lb 16+ ounces, right? so anything between 16lb 0 ounces and 16lb 15 ounces is still a 16 then?

it has to be 16 lb 0 oz or less

so what if a take a nib ball in to a pro shop and its 16lb 6 oz? does he just drill a balance hole on the side?

You're allowed one balance hole, a hole for each finger used (you can use 5 fingers). I think most drillers would have a hard time removing 6 oz.
I use finger and thumb insert and my driller removes 2 - 2.5 ounces of weight. You can drill all fingers deeper to help remove weight.

A weight hole has a max diameter of 1 1/4". The deeper you drill the holes the more you affect the core. You can make it more dynamic, depending on the position of the weight hole.

All 16 lbers I have seen in box were 16 .0 I have never even seen 16.1

I'm sure there are quite a few 16.3 or below out there, but 16.4 or higher are probaly rare. I don't throw 16 so I don't see nib specs that often.

Good luck with that Quantum Splitcity. I noticed that when you linked to it when you needed a 'dull' ball.

6oz. is hard to remove.  4" deep holes anyone?

16.00 lbs is the limit after drilling.

16.01 lbs is over the limit and will be rejected at nationals.

I've seen 16 3oz undrilled but it is pretty hard to get more than 3oz out to get it down to legal weight.

Most NIB 16's are 15lb 14 oz to 16 lb 1 oz.
