Title: Turning down honor scores
Post by: Hogsharley on January 09, 2009, 12:18:51 PM
I was just looking bowl.com checking out some of my center's better bowlers and there's this one guy with really good talent (300's with both hands). The guy is a lot of fun to bowl against, likes his beer and doesn't take the game too seriously.

Well after he bowls an 800 against us last year the secy gave him the form to fill out and he crumpled it up and threw it on the floor. I thought he was only joking about it since it's his nature. After checking out bowl.com, he had an 800 and a 300 that where never registered with the USBC.

I would give my right nut for an honor score but this guy either doesn't care or he was too drunk to remember if he ever filled out the paper work. I guess for him it's just a night out with the guys. Does anyone else know bowlers like this?

Here's his bowl.com info. He had an 828 and a 300 last spring.

I know a guy here who refused to fill out the paperwork for a 300 because he had a brooklyn strike in the middle of the game.

No - I'm NOT kidding.

I know a guy who protested and still protests easy lane conditions and bowlers who only like bowling on a wall.  He is a great bowler with over 30 300's.  A few years ago, after the first 11, he threw the 12th in the gutter on purpose, and turned around to the people watching, and said, "and that's what i think of today's honor scores."

I do agree with the easy conditions hurting the games integrity in a sense however you do still have to get lucky enough to make em all fall everytime. I personally will struggle to shoot any honor scores as I try and stay away from the latest and greatest I try and stick to my early reactives and urethanes as well as plastics in doing this it makes say a 220 game a greater accomplishment IMO than a 300 with a shot that guides the ball and a ball that hits so hard that hitting the 7 pin will take down all 10 and so on. Lastly if I screw up I know it and dont get away with it. Lastly a bit off topic but how do you leave a 4,9 is that a ball just driving too hard and cutting through the middle of the rack? I ask is I dont leave this one usually and I tend to only do it with my purple rhino.

I know how many I have in both 300s and 800s. I do not know how many Bowl.com shows. I had a season where I shot 20 honor scores---you know how much that sucks to fill that crap out 20 times? Especially when, if you knew me, you'd know, I HATE TO FILL OUT FORMS. Any type of form.

I was also secretary of 3 leagues that season. I had enough to do without filling out my own forms.

Not only a first class jerk, but a sandbagger as well.  He should have 10 pins added ot his total pins for the season to calculate his average!....lol

That's just being a cocky a**hole, that's all that is.

He's above the game apparently.

Tons of people would give anything for one shot at bowling and some people even seeing a 300 game shot, and this guy is so cock and arrogant, that oh I'll just channel dump it, and make a smart comment about how I'm so much better than all of you.

Although I do not know who he is, I nominate him for the FRY-DAY DOUCHE OF THE CENTURY!

Sounds like some of these people should have stopped bowling a long time ago.
