Two Balls
« on: November 11, 2011, 06:10:19 AM »
If you went into a two ball tournament with a typical house shot, what two would you go with?
Theoretically, for this thread, we will say the lanes are re-conditioned every six games.
My choices would be a Virtual gravity Nano, and a urethane ball for when it dried up a bit. Perhaps a Storm Natural, which would also make a decent spare ball.

Some of these suggestions crack me up! In most cases every one of these people are wrong... You need one skid flip ball to wheel from maybe deep in the late games, and another smooth rolling solid or pearl. A Nano is out of the question if there is any bowlers at all in this tournament, and then on the urethane note..."that maybe the dumbest thing Ive ever heard of". We are talking about a house shot here guys. Only time a Urethane is useful is when there is a lack of oil anywhere on the lane, and especially on the gutter etc. Sometimes they can be used on cheetah patterns so forth.                                                                    This of course will work if you know how to take hand out of the weaker ball of the two to shoot ten pins with. If not, and you are one of the few that have a descent rev rate, a plastic ball may be the better option. I find myself scoring better with plastic than urethane because the plastic will have more energy downlane so forth to solve the carry issues.                   Personally I dont like Urethane period, but yeah I see players sometime score with them. The two best balls that come to mind right off is the Victory Road/Breeze Solid Combo. Granted I love other equipment, but not on house conditions, etc. Just my 2 cents! John

Are you a cranker John, or throw a reasonably fast ball?
I bowl about 15 -16 m.p.h if I want to be accurate for me and my stroker style.

For a THS tourney I'd take what I take to league: my Pure Physics and my 607A SE.

Heavier pattern, I would go aftermath and big heist.
Otherwise, bank and urethane hype > in my bag.

For a THS, I'd probably pack my Renegade fro fresh lanes and the black Pure Hammer, once the track rund dry and the Renegade either lacks head oil or simply does not offer enough recovery anymore when I move deep.

Very simple question...
Motiv Sigma and Spareball
Depends on surface if Sigma is polished or 2000 Grit original surface.

You won´t need anything else.

Since it is a THS:

1st Ball - Reactive - (Probably about 3000 to 4000 grit dull, no polish) The drilling layout would have produce more of an even reaction. Don't want anything too early or to late.

2nd Ball - Urethane - (Polished). Standard label drilling.

For me its about be able to play the lanes for the entire duration of the tournament. In my experience when it comes to tournaments (especially THS), I will be lucky if I get 2 games with my Reactive Ball. Most bowlers throw too strong of equipment in tournaments. Shot is gone very quick. That's why I would have a Urethane ball as my second ball.
