What adjustment to make
« on: October 28, 2008, 06:26:40 PM »
Ok here is the short story,  drilled up an Avalanche pearl tonight for dry broken down lanes.  Picked it up to use in the 3rd game and the roll is fabulos and what I was looking for.  Here is the problem.  I went XX 9 pin X 9 pin 9 pin X.  What adjustment do you make to carry a 9 pin?

I would not change much. If you face a stone 9, I'd take out some hand or maybe increase a bit axis tilt in your release, to make the ball skid a tad longer and hook slightly less. Key is IMHO to change the ball path and pin mix slightly, so that the 9 is taken out, too, and I'd guess that the ball simply comes in a tad too steep - perfect hit, but it does not touch the 9 pin itself and the pins splatter all around. I would not change anything with the ball.

Good luck!

I'd probably move my feet inside one board and throw it the same way...

I would agree with this assessment.  With today's THS, you could even make a 2 & 1 adjustment and still be okay.  And to go along with dizzy, your angle into the pocket seems a little steep and that 1 or 2 board adjustment will lessen that angle.
