two handed forum
« on: May 10, 2009, 04:22:01 AM »
I want to know if there enough of them here to start a specific forum for 2 handers.   It's still new so if we could all come together we could all benefit from it, tips and adjustments and especially form.

Any thoughts?
--------------------
High game 300, 298(no middle finger) 290, 290(no middle finger)
2 handed (279) 710
High series 804
High triplicate 774
High average 221
best game. when I was 6 I bowled a 158

I have a 16# morich awesome finish I want to trade.  1 season on it.    I am looking for 15# stuff

maybe have a no thumb/two handed forum.

there are more similarities I think b/w a no thumb bowler and a two handed bowler then there is with a regular thumbed 1 arm bowler.

any thoughts?

Why don't all the 2-handed bowlers join a pact that states all 2-handed forum questions or posts start with "2H" or "2-Hand" and that way you would all know that post is intended for 2-handed bowlers.

I just don't see enough interest in a forum for just 2-handed bowlers.

In order to increase spead for me when i bowl 2 handed lower your none holding ball hand and when you push away it should be perpendicular to the approach.  so for a righty your left shoulder should be down toward the lane.  If it is angled less then the lower your backswing will be.

most bowlers wthen they switch from one hand to two hands increase speed and if under 16 pounds for ball weight they can increase ball weight.....easily!

My 9 year old daughter throws an 8.  Two handed she likes to throw my 15s!
I tell her it is too heavy and don't allow much of it!

Question to the other 2 handed bowlers out there?     I was going to try to increase my speed but at 15.5mph at the pin deck has given me more strikes then ever.   I wanted to increase my speed to be able to move right a bit, but am having success here.  front 9, front 8 then 9 pin, 8 pin then the next 8, and a 279 in there as well.   A couple of months has increased my strikes by about 1.5-2 a game.

My question is.  How fast do you throw the ball 2 handed.

comparison, how fast do you throw it 1 handed vs. 2 handed.    I throw it about 15.5 1 handed and 15.5-16 2 handed.

Question: Can a two-handed release help with taken pressure off your wrist if its had an injury? Right now, I'm having issues with a wrist injury and based on what my chiropractor said, its not carpal tunnel. Still hurts like hell though. The cleaner I come out the ball, the more it hurts. I still plan to get it checked out and I'm sure I'll need some type of wrist support, but I hoping a style change might help too. No. I'm not trying to get in on the two handed bandwagon, just trying to find something that won't hurt my wrist.

When you've moved up, moved back, adjusted left and right, cupped, flattened out, have thrown everyting in your arsenal, and the pins still don't cooperate, just say, "Aw to HELL with it!", and throw the ball!

it is like bowling without your thumb your palm and your non bowling hand are what is supporting the weight not your wrist

Well, my issue is at the point of release. My concern is, would the style support it enough, even though the ball is still coming off my hand the same way. Hope I'm making sense with this question.

Point one: A separate forum for 2 handers is needed because who wants to mix things up. Give them there own space...those cheaters... LOL

Point two: I would be very intrested in reading only two handed posts... I might learn something since I cant do it. And its own forum would make it easiers.

Point three: I would bet there are some interesting layouts... which might again help me to learn something for my two handed friends.

DO IT!!!

Why would there be different layouts?

Because of more ball speed, more rev rates??? I typically dont see or drill for people that have 500+ rpm or 22mph ball speeds. Which is more dominate? Pin down or pin up? Do they use shorter pins or longer pins? Do they use more mb in track or in the strong? I dont know... maybe there is not a common consideration or any specific generality for layouts.

I tried using two hands multipul times. Until I noticed it looked like Belmonte used a semi grip (or near conventional) I was unable to control the reaction. Now that I have used a semi, I beleive I can do it with more practice. Perhaps I would learn something about layouts that would help.

I see ...but ...at the end of the day ....I think the basis of each layout still holds true ...

Don't most mfgrs have drilings for hi-rev players?  If so, would a two-hander fall into that category, in theory?

More revs would mean more violent reactions at the 'spot' ...just like a hi-rev player....but, I guess I could see where there would be some differences you'd have to keep in mind...

caveat: NOT trying to be a jerk here, just looking at it in a way where you are not OVER THINKING it ...
