We had a discussion going a couple of months ago about Upers (Upper Peninsula bowlers in Michigan) and Trolls (Lower Peninsula bowlers). So I did it...I booked a sport tournament at Dondee Lanes in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan!!!
Saturday, Sep. 17, 2005 @ 1pm. $60/members, $65/non-members
$1000 1st prize with 60 entries, limited to 72 entries, 1st come 1st serve.
Friday Night Sweeper @ 10pm, $35 entry, $400 1st prize with 48 entries.
Main event format is 5 games of qualifiying across 5 pairs of lanes, cut to the top 1 in 4 entries for seeded, single game elimination rounds. Make the cut and cash. We will have $5 brackets, $20 parallel pot (additional prize fund based on final standings), $15 regular jackpot, and ball raffle. Parallel pot pays $300 1st prize with 40 entries. With jackpots, sweeper, and brackets, one could win $2000+ on the weekend!
We've got Quality Inn and Suites giving us good deals on rooms for $59/night + tax. Call and book soon because September in Sault Ste. Marie is quite busy for tourism.
