Best Heavy oiler of this past season???
« on: May 10, 2004, 08:28:56 PM »
Now that the season is over and I have a gap to fill in my arsenal, I was wondering what do you guys and girls think was the best oiler of the season.  I got through the whole season without a heavy oil ball and plan to bowl in a few different houses this summer so I need a heavy oil ball for the summer and the upcoming season.

Thanks

I thought the Morich Mayhem looked great as did the Throttle.

Of course two of the best from the past are the AMF Evolution Tour and the Reaction Roll.

PS I tear up long oil patterns with a higher rg Spell, which I point from 8 to 12 at the break.  Wow!

Bang for the buck:  Swamp Monster

Best Overall:  Ultimate Inferno  V2 Strong

my vote goes to the Ultimate Inferno.  I've got one.

I got a swamp monster too, but I don't really like particle ball.  Though as Pinbuster mentioned, swamp monster is cheap.

My teammate has a Fear Factor, seems ok, but I'm just not sure about Storm's Monsoon coverstock.

I have had quite a few "oil" balls this past season.

Here is what I had/have:
Track Phenom, Track Animal, Track Phenom Unleashed, Brunswick Raging Inferno, Brunswick Ultimate Inferno, Dynothane Anomaly, Storm Fear Factor.

I have had the Swamp Monster, and many other things for the past couple of years also.

NOTHING compares to the Track Animal. I have 2 of them. One for medium heavy and one for nothing but heavy (DRILLED leverage). I have never thrown a ball that hooks in oil like this ball does and retains enough energy to still POUND the pins. There was a post I responded to earlier last week, I had to use the leverage Animal in a tournament where people were throwing Ultimate Infernos, Raging Infernos, Fear Factors, Super Carbide Bombs, Throttles and on and on......but all of them, even the crankers had to play straight up. Using the leverage Animal I had area. I was able to play 18-12.

In my comparison, The Animal is much more ball than any of the Infernos. The Throttles are not close. The Fear Factor moved pretty good, but I had it at the same time I had the Phenom, and the Phenom was a few boards stronger. None of these balls can come close to the Animal. When you have it drilled correctly for oil and actually use it in oil, there is nothing that will still react and hit like this ball.

Since I don't own an Animal, I'd say the Phenom Unleashed hooked the most for me.  It even outhooks my Phenom!

The Ultimate Inferno has to be the best heavy oil ball I have thrown this year, I was having major problems with other balls: Killer Instinct Sanded, Re-Loaded, TPC Player. They were all going to long and the Ultimate has giving me a great back end on oily lanes.
