i saw these on buddies and checked them out on ultimate's site. has anyone used these yet? If so, how are they compared to vise or turbo.

I have used them, they are very, very soft compared to vise easy slugs. Be very careful when sanding they throw more like a shaving almost than dust. They felt better to me than the vise, but you can mess them up much easier to me. I also had an issue with one where it was almost seeping. My tape kept slipping up on me, and I couldn't figure it out, until I kept wiping the slug down. It only happened to 1 but that was enough for me.

I'm not sure what the above poster is talking about but it doesn't seem to be the real Ultimate Thumbs from Buddies. The Ultimate Thumb is a mold made from the best fitting thumb you have in one of your bowling balls. It can be reproduced I believe up to about 100 times. If the correct pitch is put in the ball you are having drilled it will feel exactly like the original ball. I have had other shops drill the thumbholes, but Buddies does the best work. The slugs are not very soft, but may not be quite as hard as other urethane slugs. The only thing I have found is that they are a little more slippery than regular slugs.

As i drill for Ken what he is refering to are ultimate bowling product thumb slugs which are softer than the vise easy slugs. His roommate who i also drill for is trying the ones from buddies this year and i have yet to hear a report on them
