I,m with charlest on this one the name of the game in this case is control, control, control, and over the long haul the most versatile would be a solid urethane.

While there are many resin that I LOVE for their ball paths and their hitting power, AND I personally rarely use a urethane ball, there is no doubt by any bowler who has been around for more than 2 years, that THE MOST VERSATILE ball ever made is a solid urethane. end of story.

Columbia Beast Solid, seen it used from wet to dry with success. IMO if you had a bag full of the following Beasts you could cover anything

Solid Beast
Pearl Beast
Ti Super Beast
C/Beast Urethane
Beast Master
Pearl Beast with Mica
Plastic Beast

if i had a couple non-reactive urethanes, one for dry and one for wet, i guess i'd agree. but covers prepped for the wet tend to be funky on burnt heads. i was thinking the Ultra Hot (much like the Beast Solid). if i was to name more modern equipment???maybe a pearlized stronger ball? hmm...
