« on: June 04, 2009, 04:27:00 AM »
Anybody know of a good coach around lansing i looked on bowl.com and there are only 3 and out of the 3 only one has contact info and he wont return any of my emails. Just having some consistancy issues and would like the experience of working with an actual coach. Also any one know of any tournaments coming up around here. i havent really competed since state's and had alot of fun with that and would love to do more or them. oh and i also checked bowl.com for that too. anybody have any info let me know thanks guys

I'm not sure of any coaches in that area, but the Michigan Majors are heading out that way soon.  I think they're going to be at Royal Scot and Bay Lanes coming up.

Bowl.com won't load for me at the moment...

What level of coaching are you looking for?  I live in Lansing...

like i said i just have consistancy issues right now. Its pretty hit or miss some days im really on other days im really off. my average is 192 and i know i could easily be a 200+ average bowler so i want a coach that can maybe point out some things i need to work on, maybe film me so i can see how it looks, tell me my rev rate and speed and generally make suggestions for my game so if a coach can do that im not too concerned about the level i guess

He has a set price for coaching on the shop's price board.  He also has Bowler's Map in the shop and that can be used in the coaching lessons as well.  Very knowledgeable driller and a capable coach.

This shop has brought in national level coaches for seminars and group lessons in the past.  I've been "coached" by Fred Borden, Jeri Edwards, and Mo Pinel.

Mr. K's Pro Shop (inside Royal Scot Golf and Bowl)

4722 West Grand River Ave.
Lansing, MI 48906
(517) 321-3071

Ask for the bowling pro shop, then ask to speak to Dave Spohn.  He's in from 12-7pm, Monday to Thursday right now.

He has the Ebonite coaching program and has quickly built up a great reputation for being a great driller and also a very good coach.
