Which situation would make bowling more successful?
« on: April 30, 2007, 04:02:44 AM »
Of the below scenarios, which one would be most profitable and keep the most bowling centers open?

1) Jesus comes back to earth and heads up the USBC.  The organization takes charge and bans all smoking, drinking, and cursing from all bowling alleys. Likewise, gambling is eliminated - no more pot games, card games, kitties, fifty-fifth sales, or brackets. All bolwing centers 24/7 will be full of inspirational music, instructors who teach the game and good sportsmanship.  The lanes are oiled in a challenging, fair way. Every league begins with a prayer and the playing of our National Anthem.  Every participant at the end of the league receives some sort of achievement award instead of prize money.

2) Satan comes to earth and heads up the USBC.  The organization takes charge and walls up the lanes for high scoring.  Drinking, smoking, cursing, and gambling are not only allowed, but are encouraged.  In fact, your membership dues include a free mixed drink and a cigar. Naked lady cards (naked man cards for the womens leagues) are mandatory for any card games.  Huge prize funds are built, and winner takes all is the only unbreakable rule.

Any ideas which one would be more successful in today's society?

Jesus and Satan bowl in and host a doubles tournamant.

The latter lol.  I'd honestly hate both.  Bowling and gambling go hand in hand, its like pool or darts.  I enjoy drinking a few drinks while doing all three,e include golf into that too.  You have no idea how bad you would kill bowling if you got rid of drinking and gambling duering it.

*gasp!*  But I though bowling was supposed to be becoming a wholesome, family-friendly game?  Now you're telling me the very changes that would make it truly family-friendly will send the whole business bankrupt and end the game as we know it?!

They would start as two separate associations, you could chose which to join and leagues would also have to chose which to sanction under.  Centers could run either type or only allow one type of sanctioning.  Some leagues would be satanic and others sanctified

Eventually they would merge.  Satan lead rules would be toned down and Jesus lead rules would be toned up.
