Update on tournament in San Antonio
« on: May 15, 2004, 08:23:09 AM »
Well, there was 2 squads today and the top eight from each
went on to the semi's of sixteen. In our squad we finished
9th, we miss the cut by 10 pins. When all is said and done
we will end up in 17th place for the whole tournament. That's
pretty good considering how many teams bowled, but still
disapointing to be that close.

One good thing is, we took the loss as a team, no finger
pointing, there was nobody saying if we only did this or
we only made one more spare. Teammates to the end.

Tough ending for me because I recently moved from Dallas to
San Antonio, so this is the last time i'll get to bowl with
these guys in this type of situation. Good team, but most of
all, Great friends, and I will miss them.

Well it was a great season for the Varsity bowl team from Denton.  From the first week of the league to the last week of the league, we were in first place.  This was our third year together and each year we made the playoffs.  The first year we came in third from the bottom.  Last year we tied for 41st. While we were in Webster Texas for the playoffs, we went by to see how the other team from Denton was doing, that was when I really gave some very serious thought about asking Tracy to join our team.  I then talked to the other members of our team about this, then we found out how well he bowled on a losing team and all reservations went out the window so I asked and he readily accepted.  He had been a great addition to the team and a great teammate and a great friend to all.  The team and I will miss his presence with us next year.  Keep in touch and thanks Tracy and Jennifer.
