Bruise developing on thumb...

Started developing this red line bruise on the thumb, on the side that is opposite of the thumb nail. The red line seems to be the same shape as the top of the thumb and it goes across. The bruise doesn't seem to hurt but it does gets worse the more I bowl and turning yellowish after a few days.
Recently just had this problem with a ball that is drilled with a new driller that I go to now. Not sure if this is caused by insufficient bevel around the thumbhole or from the tape(s) inside the hole....Anyone had this problem ?

it's just a burn mark...that is, excessive rubbing from insufficient bevel. I have it on my thumb after I bowl too much usually 20+ games in a short time frame.

It wears away after a while.

Probably bevel and/or span.Bevel the edge more and see if that helps,if not,have your span rechecked.

The funny thing is that it just takes about 3 games for the mark to developed and usually takes about 2 weeks for it to completely go away.

I'll definitely try to have the front part of the thumb hole beveled a little more and see it that helps.

What do you guys use besides taking it to a proshop?
I'm just trying to safe some money if I can do it at home.

it can also be from grabbing the ball at the bottom. I know this becuase when i get a bit out of timing and i grab it at the bottom i get the same thing this allows me to know when i need to work on my timing and release

I always do my own bevel with 120 grit sandpaper.  It usually takes me a couple games to get a new ball perfect.  Throw a few frames, sand a little, repeat until it feels good.

It's from squeezing the ball, which actually can be from too much bevel. Don't squeeze it.
