Title: Updated U.S Nationals Arsenal
Post by: PowrKoil17 on June 23, 2012, 11:38:34 AM
My son is going to bowl at Nationals in Indianapolis in July. These are the 3 balls he is going to take: pin under Evil Siege (polished), pin up Mission 2.0 (4000 Abralon), and pin under Red Zone (800 wetsand). He also has a Slingshot we might throw in the car for just in case. What do you guys think?

I don't know what their pattern will look like, however, the tougher the pattern I really like pin down layouts and surfaces that lend towards predictability.

What I might recommend is to reverse the surfaces between the pin down Evil Siege (so it's 2000-4000) and the pin up Mission (so it's polished) so you should see even more contrast.

The Red Zone was a polished Strike Zone, so keep it where it is, and the Slingshot may come in handy if they dry out. Best of luck to him!

Well I have an update on the arsenal in question for my son going to Nationals. We went today and got the Evil Siege drilled, which actually was not drilled yet and we were assuming we were going pin under, but is now actually drilled pin up with a surface of 500 abralon. We changed Pro shops and they recommended this drilling and surface instead.

So now the arsenal looks like this: Evil Siege PinUp 500 abralon, Mission 2.0 2000 PinUp abralon, Red Zone PinUnder 800 wet sand, and Slingshot PinUp 2000 abralon. We've done some testing on the lanes and so far everything seems to play well together locally.
