According to this, several celebrities are nominated for Bowling Hall of Fame simply because their bowling is promoting the sport.  Other nominations go to Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian, and Bill Murray.  What do you all think about this?

Guess they will do anything to get bowling out there in the public eye. Including put some famous people in the HOF, why ohh because they went bowling a few times! Pretty amazing the stretch bowling has to go through to get in the news.

Besides if your Taylor, Justin, Kim, Bill, etc... Is it an honor to be in the Bowling Hall of Fame or will people just laugh at you?! Interesting debate there!

Compare that article to REAL SPORTS. This is the nail in the coffin of bowling being anything more then entertainment. Should have known that already, but I was too stupid.

The only people that should care are the ones that are already in the HOF.

Do you guys really care if people think of bowling as sport or entertainment?

Does it affect your desire to bowl?  Does it detract from the enjoyment you get from bowling?

Seems that a lot of the people complaining are the first ones to jump in with a "bowling a 300 these days is a joke," or "anybody that can throw the ball should be able to average 200 on a walled up THS."

Do you expect non-bowlers to be impressed by your accomplishments, especially if you can't even respect the accomplishments of other bowlers?

Good point, qstick777.

Those that are in there for their legitimate accomplishments may be offended. I will be quiet on the subject from this point forward.

I impressed with anyone that bowls whatever. I also think that it is a joke and makes no sense to put these people in the bowling HOF. That it is voted on by the fans, and you can vote as much as you want. If your that desperate for hits on the website just add porn. So now Kim Kardashian will be next to the greats of the sport because.......USBC is desperate for anything????

It really is a joke.  If you look at the Bowling Museum website, they don't even have a "Celebrity Hall of Fame" listed.  I guess it going to be a new thing?

Besides, Taylor is in a distant 4th with only 2% of the votes.
