long oil question
« on: February 20, 2007, 03:10:35 AM »
Long oil pattern about 46' to 48'.  The oil from 2nd arrow in is heavier oil.  From 2nd arrow to gutter is really heavy oil.  Backends are dry and clean.

On a pattern like this do you think it's better to use a ball that doesn't read the mid lane and responds to the friction on the backend really well?  Or do you think it's better to use a ball that flares a lot and get's into it's roll early?  I'm talking about for the first game when the pattern is fresh and no defined hook spot has developed yet.

On this pattern swinging the ball is not a good idea until a defined hook spot develops.
