Your experience is not typical, unless the pattern is heavily walled. If that is the case then you are able to get way right and have a hook stop look that is not available with stronger equipment. The problem the other bowlers are having is that they are not able to square up but rather are trying to over power the oil from their normal angles. On long sport patterns I dont know anyone who would opt for urethane. We are playing on a 52 foot sport pattern right now, and everyone is starting about 12 board with no out angle, then gradually moving in as the heads break down. Nobody is using a lot of surface, but nobody is using urethane.
